Free Fishing Weekend February 13-14

Michigan winter Free Fishing Weekend is coming up soon, Saturday and Sunday February 13 and 14, 2016. You do not need a Michigan fishing license to fish anywhere in Michigan that weekend.

So get out and try some ice fishing. Maybe fish a stream for some cold, cold water fish. Here’s a video from Michigan Department of Natural Resources Fisheries Biologist Tom Goniea talking about how to ice fish for panfish and pike!

Michigan’s Recreation Passport means four seasons of fun in Michigan’s woods and waters, and it also helps preserve Michigan’s outdoors for future generations. You will not need a Recreation Passport if you plan on entering MDNR State Parks and other facilities such as Boater Access Sites on Free Fishing Weekend.
