Michigan Winter Free Fishing Weekend 2017

February 18 and 19, 2017 will be Michigan’s winter free fishing weekend for 2017. You do not need a fishing license on that weekend to fish anywhere in Michigan. Visit the MDNR Free Fishing Website for more information including public events.

Check out the Michigan Department of Natural Resources Ice Fishing Technique page for more information on ice fishing in Michigan!

Additionally, the DNR will waive the regular Recreation Passport entry fee that grants vehicle access to Michigan’s 103 state parks and recreation areas. Several of these locations will be hosting official Free Fishing events that are perfect for the whole family!
